1a Domenica di Avvento

Annunziandoci il suo ritorno, il Signore ci ingiunge di stare vigili e di pregare;
unendoci alla speranza messianica dei profeti
 i nostri occhi si levano in una ardente attesa della nuova creazione
e della pienezza di vita promesse e già attuate nel Cristo glorioso.

2a Domenica di Avvento

Con Gesù diventa realtà la speranza, dettata dai profeti, d'un giorno in cui finalmente sarebbero superate tutte le miserie, nella gioia della salvezza. Sono giunti i tempi messianici;
Nel deserto si innalza la voce di Giovanni Battista, l'ultimo dei profeti:
"Preparate le vie del Signore".

3a Domenica di Avvento

L'esempio del Battista e il suo insegnamento ci propongono la quiete della solitudine per raggiungere l'unione con il Verbo, la cui incarnazione fu preparata e preannunziata durante lunghi secoli, da patriarchi e profeti. Da parte nostra, il riconoscimento del nostro nulla ci dispone a vedere il Signore, perché egli si china verso di noi.

1 - 4 Sundays in Advent

1^st Sunday of Advent

Announcing his return on earth, the Lord commands us to be vigilant and pray; uniting ourselves to the messianic hope of the prophets, our eyes are lifted up in ardent expectation of the new creation and of the fulness of life which has been promised to us and already fulfilled in the glorious Christ.

2^nd Sunday of Advent

With the coming of Jesus, hope becomes a reality, as foretold by the prophets, of a day when all misery will finally be overcome, in the joy of salvation. Messianic times are here.

In the desert the voice of John the Baptist, last of the prophets, can be heard:
"Prepare ye the ways of the Lord".

3^rd Sunday of Advent

The Baptist’s example and his teaching propose to us the quietness of solitude to reach union with the Word, whose incarnation was prepared and foretold in the course of long centuries, by patriarchs and prophets. On our part, in recognizing our nothingness this would be putting us in a position to see the Lord, because he is leaning towards us.

4^th Sunday of Advent

The promises are about to be fulfilled.

The long preparation of man for God’s design is about to be completed with the coming of the Son of God in our flesh.

We are ready to receive him with a pure heart.
